Happy Valley's James Norton and The Virtues' Niamh Algar are set to star in the new psychological thriller Playing Nice, filmed and set in Cornwall. The ITV drama follows two couples who discover their three-year-old sons, Theo and David, were switched at birth.
Despite reaching an agreement, tensions rise as they navigate this complex situation. Based on a best-selling novel by British author JP Delaney, the first episode will air on ITV 1 and STV at 9pm on Sunday (January 5).
Cornwall Live reports the entire four-part series will be available on ITVX and STV Player on the same date. Filming took place on the Cornish coast in 2023 and 2024.

James Norton as Pete
James Norton plays Pete, a former journalist who left his career to become a full-time father. When he learns that Theo is not his biological child, he is determined to keep the boy he has raised and prevent his family from being torn apart.
Norton has previously starred in Happy Valley, Grantchester, War and Peace and McMafia.
Niamh Algar as Maddie
Maddie, a devoted mother and successful restaurant owner in Cornwall, has recently overcome severe postnatal depression. However, the revelation of a baby swap forces her to revisit and face her darkest fears.
Niamh Algar, an Irish actress renowned for her roles in Channel 4's The Virtues, Malpractice, MotherFatherSon, Raised by Wolves, Censor and Pure, portrays Maddie.
James McArdle as Miles
James McArdle plays Miles, a highly accomplished architect who is consumed with thoughts about his lineage, legacy, and the concept of 'the perfect family'. He becomes obsessed with Theo, whom he perceives as the son he's always longed for.
McArdle, a Scottish actor, has previously starred in The Mare of Easttown, Andor, Sexy Beast, Appropriate Adult, Love and Marriage and Ammonite.
Jessica Brown Findlay as Lucy
Jessica Brown Findlay takes on the role of Lucy, a former acclaimed artist now dedicated to being a full-time mother to David and wife to Miles. Upon learning about the baby swap, Lucy's determination to safeguard David intensifies.
Jessica Brown Findlay, recognised for her portrayal of Lady Sybil Branson in Downton Abbey, has also featured in Black Mirror, Harlots, Life After Life and England Is Mine.
