Marc Warren landed a role in Netflix's new Harlan Coben show Missing You, but the actor looks completely different.

The 57-year-old is best known for his roles in TV series such as Band Of Brothers, Hustle, The Vice and Mad Dogs.

In his latest role in Missing You, which hit screens on New Year's Day, Marc stars as professional hitman Monte Leburn who is dying from cancer in prison.

The Van Der Valk star underwent an image overhaul for the part, ditching his blonde hair for a shaven head. Marc also appeared on screen with sunken eyes and pale skin to accurately portray a dying man.

Missing You is the 10th TV adaptation of Harlan Coben's popular mystery novels and stars Slow Horses actress Rosalind Eleazar as Missing Persons detective Kat Donovan.

The five-part series follows Kat after she sees her ex fiancé Josh (Ashley Walters) on a dating app 11 years after he vanished from her life.

The discovery leads Kat to reopen the unsolved mystery surrounding her father's (Lenny Henry) murder, resulting in shocking revelations from her past coming to light.

Netflix fans have been eagerly waiting for Missing You to drop on the streaming service following the success of Fool Me Once last year. The series, starring Michelle Keegan and Joanna Lumley, became one of Netflix's biggest hits, with Missing You expected to do the same.

Fool Me Once's director Nimer Rashed returned to helm episodes alongside Isher Sahota, best known for Ridley and Grace. Meanwhile Victoria Asare-Archer, who co-wrote the 2021 thriller Stay Close, starring Cush Jumbo and James Nesbitt, was in charge of screenwriting.

Of the new nail-biting series filled with twists and turns, Rosalind exclaimed: "It’s relentless!

"What I like about [Donovan] is that she is a survivor. She has these moments where she is incredibly hurt but she picks herself right back up again. I think people in life do that a lot more than TV gives credit for."

Recognising the popularity of Harlen Coben adaptations, Rosalind said: "The fact is that people do gobble it up. The figures are insane. In a way, it’s a bit of a shame that it’s binged."

She added: "You’re like, 'wow that’s just gone in five hours' and it’s taken me five months and other people even longer to make. But look, that’s where we are."
