Daily Express columnist James Whale has voiced hopes that he will be returning to work soon as he issued another health update.
The 73-year-old presenter was rushed to hospital and admitted to intensive care just before Christmas after falling ill with the flu.
His wife, Nadine Lamont Brown, revealed that James was back home recuperating, however, the Celebrity Big Brother star was rushed back to hospital just two days later.
In his latest update, James explained that he was back in hospital for a third time as he appeared on TalkTV via telephone, however, remained optimistic as he told presenters Andre Walker and Ash Gould that he hopes to be back soon.
"Well here I am in hospital having a marvellous time, I can't tell you," James said. "I really should be out there keeping Ash under control but my lovely wife is sitting here just keeping an eye on me."

Nadine, who married James in 2021, could be heard agreeing in the background.
He added: "In the meantime I will leave you in the expert hands of Mr Ash. Hopefully I'll be back on the air, Talk TV and radio, very very soon."
James has been battling stage four kidney cancer since 2020 and the disease has since spread to his spine, brain and lungs.
Despite his lengthy battle, James has continued to defy the odds after concerns he wouldn't see another Christmas.
After spending New Year's Eve in A&E with James, Nadine wrote on X: "Well he decided that Christmas Day in ICU wasn’t quite enough of a treat and so James Whale thought that NYE in A&E with some blue lights thrown in for good measure might be fun.

On New Year's Day, James returned to television for a candid interview with his wife, where he opened up about facing death.
The podcast host appeared calm as he discussed his health status, saying: "If I have a few more months, that'd be great. If I have until next Christmas or this coming Christmas, that'd be nice, wouldn't it... but if I die tomorrow, I've had an amazing time and married an amazing lady."
He jokingly quipped: "I've had a lifetime of not having to have a job. I mean, I don't work!"
