New Years Day brought a brand new series of the BBC's much-anticipated The Traitors. Claudia Winkleman returned to the helm of the show as three new Traitors were unmasked.
The series follows a group of strangers at a castle in the Scottish Highlands, as their skills in detection and backstabbing are put to the test while they compete for a £120,000 prize. The chosen Traitors are tasked with killing off their fellow players without being caught, while the Faithful must try and work out who the Traitors are and banish them from the game.
However, this year had a bit of a twist as Claudia revealed that there would be one huge change. Speaking to Express.co.uk and other press, Claudia said: “Those who make it to the final no longer reveal their true identities when they leave.
“Instead, you will need to rely solely on your instincts about whether there are any Traitors left in the game. But it's so smart because it underlines you think you know how to play.”
She continued: “If players came into the castle [after watching the series before], they might have a way of working it out, right, whether you want to be a traitor or a faithful and 'I'm going to play this part and throw this person on the bus', that takes away all of that and it goes back to the absolute main body of the show, which is trust and your gut instinct.
“So at the end I will thank somebody for taking part and they can just walk out.”
Just moments into the new series, some fans complained that the programme was now "unfair" and they already guessed who might win the show - with them claiming that one team had an advantage.
Posting to Twitter, one fan complained: "Why is it literally built for the traitors to win this feels kinda unfair #thetraitors."
Another added: "As if the game wasn’t massively stacked towards the #TheTraitors. They have made it easier for them to win now."

One more agreed: "I don’t see how the Traitors can’t win. They are a small group with more information. Like any society. #Traitors." Someone else shared: "Okay so we’re rooting for the traitors to win this year x #thetraitors."
"All women traitors?? oh we are so back. a woman will win this year #TheTraitors," another confidently guessed.
However, others thought differently, with them predicting that the Faithfuls may be the ones to bag the cash this year. Someone wrote: "Hmmmmm. Think the faithfuls are gonna win this series #thetraitors".
