Tonight's Wheel of Fortune on ITV left viewers in a huff as they settled in for the festive edition.
Graham Norton took the reins for the holiday episode, welcoming celebrities Richard E Grant, Tyler West, and Joanna Page to spin the wheel in hopes of winning cash for charity. The game show challenges participants to solve puzzles for phrases and words while amassing the largest possible prize pot without hitting a dreaded bankrupt or losing a turn.
As the Yuletide episode hit the screens, disgruntled fans were quick to air their grievances on social media. One viewer scoffed: "Omg how easy is this show now, I got mince pies before he even picked the letters, actually even my dog got the answer #wheeloffortune." Another added: "It's so boring sorry. #WheelOfFortune."
A third chimed in with a plea for more difficulty: "At least make it challenging #wheeloffortune," whilst another wrote: "How did he get not get that #wheeloffortune."
The simplicity of guessing 'mince pies' as a phrase caused an uproar among the audience. Yet, the surprise of the night came when Joanna Page struggled with the puzzle 'Ding Dong Merrily on High Heels', leaving viewers perplexed as she needed all the letters revealed before solving it.
This special serves as a precursor to a nine-episode civilian series set to launch in the New Year.
Graham Norton expressed his excitement about the return of the show, stating: "I'm thrilled we are coming back for a second series to challenge more contestants to solve more word puzzles and hopefully they come away with even more cash. It's a game of skill and luck, so you just never know which way it will go and I'm excited to see who can hold their nerve against the wheel."
