Alison Hammond loses her ear piece on This Morning
This Morning's Christmas Eve broadcast was abruptly interrupted just moments after it began.
Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary were ready with festive cheer, set to deliver a yuletide special to viewers. But a mishap struck when Alison, 49, who was due to dash off to the Birmingham Hippodrome for her role in the Pantomime Peter Pan as the Magical Mermaid, encountered an on-screen slip-up.
Caught up in pre-show excitement, Alison's attempt at a high kick saw her lose her ear piece. A surprised Dermot, 51, exclaimed: "Look at that kick!" with Alison confessing: "My ear piece just fell out! We don't need them, oh, have you found it? Thank you!"
Dermot retrieved the device from Alison's hair and reattached it, prompting laughter and gratitude from the host with: "Thank you so much, thank you!"
Alison mentioned her Panto-worthy kicks, hinting that audiences would witness more should they attend her performances. Slated for her second consecutive year in panto, she returns as the Magical Mermaid in Peter Pan, reports the Mirror.
It comes as Alison said about her upcoming Panto performances: "Birmingham... I’m back! I’m SO excited to return to the Hippodrome this Christmas in Peter Pan as the Magical Mermaid alongside the hilarious Matt Slack.
"I loved every second of Jack and the Beanstalk last year, we had so much fun, but it went by so fast that I had to come back for another. Birmingham is home to the best audiences, and I can’t wait to see them all in Neverland soon!"
It comes as Kate Lawler was left red-faced as she returned to ITV's This Morning to share the latest competition details with viewers at home on Monday.
Sian Welby and Craig Doyle were back on the famous blue sofa on Monday (December 23) and the pair introduced former Big Brother winner Kate to the show who was on location in Southbourne in Dorset.
Kate was joined on the beach by her adorable pooch Shirley but things didn't quite go to plan during the live segment as the dog began "humping" her owner on camera.
As the presenter read out the details for the prize giveaway, Shirley couldn't control herself leading to Kate to shout: "Shirley, I said no humping on telly. Thanks for embarrassing me on TV."
Sian and Craig were left in fits of giggles as the camera cut back to the ITV studio and the pair struggled to stop laughing. Craig issued an apology to next guests, a support group for lonely women, for Shirley's "naughty" behaviour before continuing on with the programme.
This Morning continues on weekdays at 10am on both ITV and ITV X.
