Claire King has hinted that this festive season might spell the end for Emmerdale's Kim Tate.
Kim, the head of the Tate family, has cemented her status as a soap legend over 30 years. Her seemingly idyllic marriage to Will Taylor hit rocky ground after his affair with former flame Rose and was further complicated by the arrival of Peter, Kim's ex and one-time lawyer. Peter and Will are colluding with an unidentified ally to topple Kim.
With plans underway for a Christmas Day vow renewal orchestrated by Will to humiliate Kim before their nearest and dearest, it remains to be seen whether he will follow through with the plan.
During her appearance on This Morning, Claire shared: "It's been a little bit challenging with this storyline. It's been lovely because I love working with Dean. So that's been fantastic but it's been a little bit hard because of the subject matter and things. But I can't go into that! I know, I'm desperate to tell you but I'll be shot.

"Will's plotting with Peter, who was Kim's financial adviser. I don't think he is anymore, I haven't seen him in a while. But there's someone else pulling the strings behind. Kim had a little dalliance with Peter to get back at Will, who had a fling with his ex-wife. It's all very interwoven and very complicated - but there's someone behind the scenes who is pulling the strings and they want to give the surprise on Christmas Day. Kim's looking forward to Christmas Day because she's going to have all her family back, they're going to renew their wedding vows - so it's all going to be really lovely."
However, Claire hinted that this could be Kim's final Christmas in the soap.
When asked about her future on the show, she responded: "My contract runs out in June and if they decide to keep me on and I decide to accept, then I might be here longer. But at the moment, yes this is her last Christmas."
For now, Kim seems focused on revenge - and having killed before, could another character be facing their last Christmas at Home Farm or in Emmerdale village?
Claire warned that Kim will be furious when she discovers what has been happening behind her back, stating: "I don't think there is a word for how angry she will be. She's going to be positively rampantly livid. I think she will want retaliation very quickly."
