Amy Dowden and Carlos Gu chat about their upcoming tour
BBC Breakfast fans were left up in arms after Strictly professionals Amy Dowden and Carlos Gu were welcomed on the famous red sofa.
During Wednesday’s visit to the BBC studios, Jon Kay and Sally Nugent woke up the nation with the biggest stories hitting the headlines.
This included the backlash from Waspi campaigners as government say no to pension compensation and the rise in UK inflation rates for the second year in a row.
Later on in the show, the dynamic duo welcomed pro dancers Amy and Carlos onto the programme to promote their upcoming UK tour, titled Reborn.
But it’s fair to say fans were disappointed to see stars from the dance competition back on their screens again after Chris McCausland and Dianne Buswell were crowned this year’s champs.
It didn’t take long before viewers flooded to X – formerly known as Twitter – to share their frustration online.
One user penned: “I’ve said it before and I’ll happily say it again #BBCBreakfast has morphed into Morning Live. What vacaous s***e are they going to continue to push?”
Another fumed: “Great more Strictly [eyes-rolling emoji] #bbcbreakfast” as a third echoed: “Leave the evil show alone. Enough of Strictly! #bbcbreakfast.”
Meanwhile a fourth pointed out: “Israel has been attacking Kamal Adwan hospital for weeks and targeted the intensive care unit overnight, starting a huge fire. Although you wouldn’t know it if you were watching #BBCBreakfast, Sky news or #GMB this morning.”
Another chimed in with: “Boycott BBC. Boycott TV license fee” as one user declared “#bbcbreakfast Strictly come dancing klaxon.”
