Michael McIntyre celebrated 25 years of stand-up comedy - but not all fans were happy.

To mark the milestone, The BAFTA award-winning 'King of Stand-Up' returned to the London Palladium for a hilarious stand-up comedy special.

The comedian, 48, said: "I’ve had an amazing 25 years since my first stand-up gig and the BBC have been such a huge part of that, giving me some wonderful stages on which to perform from Live at the Apollo, to Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow and Michael McIntyre’s Big Show.

"Which is why it’s so befitting and such an honour to be celebrating this milestone with this stand-up special of all new jokes on BBC One and iPlayer."

However, the show wasn't a hit for everyone as several viewers rushed to share their brutal thoughts.

Some claimed the show wasn't funny (Image: BBC)

One wrote: "Whenever I’ve watched Michael McIntyre live, I’ve always ended up crying with laughter. But not during tonight’s. Was it just me or was it not that funny?"

Another said: "So far, this #michaelmcintyre stand-up show is average at best, sorry. Dunno why the audience is laughing so hard."

A third added: "Maybe I'm just in the wrong mindset tonight but I'm not finding this #MichaelMcIntyre show funny at all. I usually like him but I haven't laughed once. But the audience are in fits of laughter so it might just be my mood."

Another viewer responded: "It’s not just you. I’m not finding it funny at all. Such high hopes too."

A fifth bluntly claimed: "Literally the most unfunny person #MichaelMcIntyre."

Despite the negative comments from some, others thoroughly enjoyed it as one wrote: "Just laughed my way through the last hour watching Michael McIntyre's show on BBC. Hilarious! And the "silent letter day" joke took me out completely I was crying laughing. Too funny."

A second agreed: "I have just properly couldn’t breathe, crying, belly laughed at Michael McIntyre; absolutely hilarious!"

Another posted: "And now I'm crying from laughing because of Michael McIntyre going on about silent letters - omg."

Echoing this, a third penned: "I was crying and howling with laughter watching #MichaelMcIntyre. The last 10 minutes of his #BBC1 show were the funniest I'd heard in years."

Someone else declared: "What a brilliant Saturday night on BBC1 - fabulous, inspiring #StrictlyFinal win for Chris McCausland followed by a absolutely hilarious #MichaelMcIntyre - went from tears of emotion for one show to tears of laughter at another!!"
