Piers Morgan Uncensored: Host celebrates channel's success
Piers Morgan hit out at GB News after the divisive channel revealed they had overtaken Sky News to secure 70,430 average monthly views.
Piers, who hosts Piers Morgan Uncensored on YouTube, played it down. GB News's viewing success is attributed to its founder's claim that the ratings are "meagre" compared to his show's audience of 3.5 million subscribers.
In a post shared with X, Ben Briscoe, head of GB News programming, wrote: "GB News overtakes Sky News. In November, GB News secured 70,430 average monthly live views compared to Sky News’ 67,670."
In response, Piers typed: "Good achievement, but those ratings are still so meagre… @PiersUncensored now has 3.5million subscribers and averages over 1.5million views for everything we post on our YouTube channel. That’s ten times the combined GB/Sky viewing numbers!! Linear TV is dying fast," he added.
In the comments, people speculated that the reason online channels have better ratings is that people are not less inclined to "trust TV media" and also spend more time on their mobile devices.

In 2021, Piers Morgan decided to step down from his role as a co-host on the popular morning television program Good Morning Britain.
His departure was largely fueled by the controversy that erupted after he publicly expressed scepticism regarding the claims made by the Duchess of Sussex during her explosive interview with Oprah Winfrey. Among the serious allegations discussed in that interview were issues surrounding racism within the royal family.
The backlash was immediate and intense, as viewers took to social media and official channels to voice their disapproval. The broadcasting regulatory body Ofcom received over 50,000 complaints regarding Piers' comments.
After a thorough review, Ofcom ultimately determined that the remarks did not violate established broadcasting standards, allowing Piers to maintain his right to free speech.
Following this tumultuous period, Piers returned to television with the launch of his new show, Uncensored, on TalkTV. This program marked a fresh chapter in his career.
It featured a mix of notable personalities, including television producer and presenter Sharon Osbourne and the former political editor of The Sun, Tom Newton Dunn.
In a statement reflecting on his return, Piers expressed his feelings of liberation, comparing his experience to that of Nelson Mandela upon his release from prison. "I feel like Nelson Mandela when he came out of prison. It’s like the long walk to free speech freedom," he remarked, emphasising his commitment to open dialogue and unfiltered discussion in his new role.
