Emmerdale: Zoë Henry praises 'extraordinary' Amelia Flanagan
Amelia Flanagan, who plays the beloved April Windsor in ITV's Emmerdale, may surprise her fans with the reveal that her two siblings work on a rival soap.
The young starlet, gracing our screens since 2014 as April, has scooped multiple accolades for her riveting performances in the Dales.
Thrilling times lie ahead for Amelia's character April, as upcoming episodes see her caught in a harrowing situation. As she becomes the target of Jade's unscrupulous friends, an alarming scene unfolds with April held close to the edge of a car park and Ross Barton (played by Mike Parr) racing to her rescue. The scenes are due to air on Thursday 5 December.
Meanwhile, off-screen, Amelia boasts a familial connection to renowned soap Coronation Street through her younger siblings Isabella and William Flanagan.
Isabella breathes life into Corrie's Hope Stapethe daughter of Fiz, while William delivers his own charm as Joseph Brown, Chesney's son and Hope's cousin, reports Leeds Live.
This trio of young talent frequently garners acclaim for their small-screen portrayals. In an interesting twist of fate at the 2022 Inside Soap Awards, Amelia found herself up against sister Isabella for the Best Young Performer title, a battle Isabella ultimately triumphed in, taking home the coveted award.
Reflecting on their unique family dynamic, Isabella shared candid insights with Inside Soap. During the glittering ceremony, she confessed: "There are so many debates at home whenever there are awards ceremonies. Me and my brother are team Corrie and my sister is obviously team Emmerdale, so it does get a bit heated sometimes!".

In an interview, Amelia candidly admitted that even though she is staunchly "Team Emmerdale", her siblings cheer for "Team Corrie". Despite their playful rivalry, she insisted, "It's never competitive".
Amelia reminisced about the heartwarming moments when they helped each other out by practising lines. She shared: "I've run lines with Bella where she's played Hope and I've pretended to be a character from Coronation Street, and she's done the same with me, so it's fun!".
Earlier, Amelia had been seen visiting the set of Coronation Street, joined by her siblings Isabella and William, in a show of family unity despite their soaps' competition. They were snapped with Corrie's young star Jude Riordon, Sam in the series.
Isabella, before this, publicly acknowledged her elder sister Amelia as her acting muse.
The Mirror quoted her saying: "I've wanted to be on TV for a long time, my sister has been in Emmerdale since she was five and I love watching her, my audition was a really fun script and I was so excited when Ology (casting agency) rang my mum to give us the good news."
Emmerdale airs weeknights on ITV at 7.30pm
