Times Radio journalist Aasmah Mir has shared a cryptic statement after it was announced that Gregg Wallace would be stepping down from MasterChef.

The 60 year old is facing allegations of misconduct and that he told jokes of a “sexualised nature”. A statement from the show’s production company, Banijay UK, said that Wallace is “committed to fully co-operating throughout the process”.

Aasmah Mir appeared as a contestant on Celebrity MasterChef UK Series 12, where she came in 14th place. Shortly after it was announced that Gregg had stepped down, she posted a cryptic statement saying: "Always keep your receipts."

The broadcaster attempted to cook a stew and rice pudding during her stint in 2017, but her skills didn't help her make it through to the next round.

Following her exit, she said at the time: "I knew that I was in trouble because I made a few mistakes, they are fantastic cooks and the standard was so high."

Wallace was not impressed by Mir's North African stew, labelling it 'watery' and that it 'the texture needs thickening up.'

At the time, fans were shocked that Ulrika Jonsson didn't get the boot as she served under-cooked lamb, which was so raw that both judges couldn't eat it.

One person said: "That seemed very weird and wrong. @AasmahMir should definitely have gone through - edible food should win over raw meat!"

Earlier this year, Gregg was allegedly accused of inappropriate sexual comments to a female BBC staffer while appearing on Impossible Celebrities.

According to the Sun, the TV personality faced complaints about his behaviour back in 2018 as he reportedly took off his top and bragged about his sexual encounters.

In 2023, he was allegedly also accused of being rude and insulting to women on a different show, Inside The Factory. Wallace disputed this.

Now taking to Instagram, the host said to his 195,000 followers at the time: "With reference to what's in the newspapers, these allegations were investigated by the BBC six years ago - and my comments were found to be not sexual. I repeat not sexual. Thank you."
