Strictly's JB Gill's touching gesture to Amy Dowden

Strictly fans have voiced their concerns online that fan-favourite JB Gill won't make it to the semi-finals. The JLS singer is competing on the BBC show with his professional partner Lauren Oakley, who stepped in to replace injured Amy Dowden.

Followers on the show have taken to Reddit to express that they have been rooting for JB from the very start, but fear that he won't make it to the final four.

One person typed: "I really fear that JB not doing a dramatic dance (e.g. a Paso) might have cost him a place in the semis.

"I’ve been rooting for him from the start I want him & Lauren to make that final however he should've ar least done a dramatic dance by now as it's unlikely he'll do 2/3 next week he's more likely to do a salsa."

Another person replied: "I think JB will dance against Montell in the dance off and beat her.

"I just can’t see Montell out dancing JBs VW with a rumba as we’ve already seen JB looks great doing a waltz week 1 and I just can’t picture the rhythms of a rumba suiting Montell. Her personality can’t shine when the focus is on being sensual rather than vibrant."

However, someone else said: "That's not in his control. It's the producers who decide this kind of thing. I think he's going to this week's dance-off. We'll have to see if he survives."

Last weekend, it was Jamie Borthwick who became the ninth celebrity to depart the dancefloor. The 30-year-old actor and his pro partner Michelle Tsiakkas, 29, left the competition on Sunday following a dance off against Montell Douglas and Johannes Radebe.

Both couples performed their routines again, with Jamie and Michelle performing their Foxtrot to ‘Stand By Me’ by Ben E King and Montell and Johannes doing their Quickstep to ‘Get Happy’ by Ella Fitzgerald.

After both couples had danced a second time, the judges delivered their verdicts, with Craig Revel Horwood choosing to save Montell and Johannes.

Motsi Mabuse and Anton Du Beke made the same pick, and with three votes in favour of Montell and Johannes, they won the majority vote meaning that Jamie and Michelle would be leaving the competition.

When asked by host Tess Daly about his time on the show, Jamie said: “‘Strictly’ is magic. That is all I can say. ‘Strictly’ is magic. Not just everyone who you see in front of the camera, these four here (the judges), but everyone who works on this show."

Strictly Come Dancing resumes on Saturday on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
