Christine Lampard brought today's Loose Women to a brief halt with an exciting announcement of "breaking jungle news".

At the outset of the programme, Christine confessed they had some hot-off-the-press updates regarding I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here. Joined by Janet Street-Porter, Coleen Nolan, and Brenda Edwards, Christine cut into the show's start to share breaking news about their fellow panellist Jane Moore.

During the broadcast, she teased: "We've got some breaking jungle news for you at 12.35pm," only to later disclose that Jane would be braving tonight's trial with Love Island's Maura Higgins.

"Competing in the trial tonight is Maura and Jane everybody. Jane - her first trial," while Coleen chimed in: "I've been desperate for her to do a trial. I've used my five votes every night for her. She's desperate to do one. She's that way inclined - if she's going to go that far, she wants to do it."

Coleen added: "Every night where they've announced it, she looks genuinely disappointed that she doesn't get picked. But last night in the WhatsApp group, Kaye was saying I hope she doesn't get it tonight because she hates water and this one is underwater. But I know Jane and I've seen a clip of it today, and I've seen her swimming under the water. She will give it 100 per cent. She's so strong."

Janet Street Porter, a fellow cast member, chimed in: "I think it's really tough to sit round the campfire and be someone who hasn't done a trial. You feel like a second division. You feel like the producers are looking at you."

Maura and Jane are set to participate in a new challenge named Fright at the End of the Tunnel, where they will have to traverse through water and an array of creepy crawlies to secure stars for camp meals, reports the Mirror.

In a sneak peek of the upcoming trial, Maura confronts her fear of spiders, confessing: "Jane, I don't know if I can do it. There's an awful amount of spiders," as Ant and Dec clarify that she must proceed to the next chamber for Jane to follow suit. Will she manage to overcome her fears?

I'm A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! airs every night at 9pm on ITV1 and ITVX and Loose Women airs weekdays on ITV1 and ITVX at 12.30pm
