Strictly: Dianne's dad introduces his daughter and Chris

Tess Daly brought Saturday's Strictly Come Dancing to a standstill when she arranged for Dianne Buswell's father to surprise his daughter with a heartfelt message.

The beloved presenter announced: "Now, since week three, Chris and Dianne have had one goal - to dance live in front of Dianne's parents."

Greeting Dianne's parents from Australia, Daly expressed: "Mark and Rina, here they are all the way from Australia, it is so lovely to see you. On behalf of all of us, the warmest welcome to you."

She continued with a touching note on the show's camaraderie: "I mean we all feel like family at this point, we really do. I know you have waited seven years for this to see Dianne live."

Tess then passed the limelight to Mark: "Would you mind doing the honours, Mark, here you go." reports the Mirror.

An emotional moment ensued as Dianne's dad announced: "Dancing the Paso Doble, here is Chris and our Dianne."

The performance by Dianne and comedian Chris McCausland moved Mark deeply, as he couldn't hold back tears.

Observing the emotional scene, Tess mentioned: "Mark is crying, don't make me cry, Mark."

Upon seeking critiques from the judgements panel, Craig Revel Horwood praised the pair noting it was "wonderful" yet "lacked the Spanish fare of this dance."

Craig added: "I could see you going for it, however, knees were a little bit too high and you need a straight leg, but wow, strength of character there, that was a really solid performance."

Motsi Mabuse also weighed in, sharing: "I think this is what Strictly is about, it is such a beautiful gesture doing this for Dianne and this moment and you are sharing this together and it's absolutely beautiful."

However, the judge noted that "in some places it was wrong", prompting Shirley Ballas to interrupt and ask "Where?"

The head judge praised Dianne's routine, saying she was "very impressed" and that "there wasn't a step out of place".

Chris and Dianne were awarded a total of 33 points by the judges.

This Sunday, another celebrity will be eliminated from the competition after the tense dance-off.

Bookies have tipped Pete Wicks and Jowita Przystal as the pair most likely to leave the competition this weekend.

Strictly Come Dancing returns on Sunday at 7.20pm on BBC One.
