Coronation Street: DC Swain receives update on Joel
Coronation Street's latest twist has left fans reeling as Joel Deering's murderer was unveiled in a gripping Friday (November 15) episode. Viewers learned that Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton) delivered the fatal blow to Joel with a rock, in a desperate bid to save her boyfriend Max Turner (Paddy Beaver).
The soap unravelled the mystery through a series of flashbacks, revealing how the day unfolded and how each suspect's story intertwined. With fear gripping her, Lauren used a tracker app to locate Joel, prompting Max to confront him, armed with stolen CS spray.
A tense confrontation ensued on a bridge after Max found Joel's bogus suicide note. Despite being sprayed in the face, Joel continued to provoke Max and disparage Lauren.
In a life-threatening moment, as Joel was choking Max, Lauren intervened by striking Joel with a rock, resulting in his death. Max wanted to alert the authorities, but a terrified Lauren feared for her son's future.
Overwhelmed by fear, the pair decided to stage Joel's death as a suicide, casting him into the water. But eagle-eyed fans have spotted a glaring inconsistency, pointing out that it had been previously stated that Joel's body was discovered in a bag, leaving them with "so many questions" about the plot, reports the Liverpool Echo.

One baffled viewer remarked: "Joel being found in a bag but not being in one in today's flashbacks, Lisa saying 'Get off me' in the previous episode but not revealing anything new today, Carla and Mason not even being in this episode despite being suspects I've so many questions."
Confusion reigned supreme with another jumping in: "It still doesn't make sense it was Lauren and Max ! ! The body was found in a bag and there was no mention of that on tonight's episode."

Puzzlement was shared across the board as someone quipped: "Had to turn brightness up on tv lol So HOW did Joel end up in a BAG? ? ? ".
The bewilderment spread with yet another fan chiming in: "Why is absolutely nobody questioning the fact Joel's body was found in a bag?"
Dissatisfaction continued, with fans highlighting gaps in the storyline: "Surely the writers wouldn't forget the body bag that Joel was found in whats going on."
Further adding fuel to the debate, another viewer pointed out inconsistencies: "Hang on. So why was Joel found in a bag? Did he wake up and someone else took him out? also Callum Lill said on tv yesterday he filmed underwater scenes."
In a twist of fate, at present, Max faces murder charges, standing firm on self-defence claims to protect Lauren. But with doubts clouding the minds of the audience, lies threadbare and truth veiled, can Lauren muster the courage to reveal all?
