Channel 4's hit show A Place in the Sun has returned with a fresh series, and host Laura Hamilton disclosed that the journey can be quite "emotional" for the presenters. In one touching episode, lifelong pals Jan and Chris ventured to Almeria, Spain, in search of their dream property.
With a combined family of six children and five grandchildren, Laura was challenged to find a home that boasted at least three bedrooms to accommodate everyone. Speaking exclusively about the experience, she shared: "It was trying to find something that would please everyone."
She continued, explaining the uniqueness of each house hunt: "Every episode is completely unique, everyone's stories are different that was an unusual one as normally you would have a couple. But this was two best friends and it was a nice scenario because I guess it makes people realise, who are considering buying a home abroad, it might not necessarily be something you can do with your partner, it can be with your friends as well."
Discussing her role in these significant life decisions, Laura expressed: "You feel honoured to be a part of a life-changing thing for people. It gets emotional for the presenters as well as the house hunters."
Laura also mentioned that she keeps in contact with some of the first house hunters she ever helped, stating: "I send regular texts to find out how they are getting on. When I go back to various locations to film I will meet up with them if I can, for a drink."

Away from the cameras, Laura finds solace in Mallorca, where she's taken on a holiday home as a renovation project.
"It's definitely a place I'm very fond of," she expressed. "I have always loved everything about it, it's family-friendly, it's got great beaches, it's got vineyards, the architecture... it's just really beautiful."
She took to social media to share her joy, stating: "I'm so excited that next week I will be completing on and getting the keys to my very own place in the sun, a holiday home in Mallorca."
"Whilst I've renovated 19 projects in the UK, this will be my first renovation overseas... and I'm completely out of my comfort zone. It's going to be an interesting process and I can't wait for the challenge."
