Loose Women: Linda halts show with cheeky tattoo quip
Loose Women panellist Mariella Frostrup shocked her colleagues and left the audience reeling with her frank disclosure during a lively discussion.
With Nadia Sawalha, Myleene Klass, and Judi Love joining her on the panel, the conversation turned to the subject of one-night stands and the enduring stigma faced by women. As the debate unfolded, Mariella shared insights into her personal life that were both unexpected and revealing.
While reflecting on her experiences, Mariella disclosed how the loss of her father when she was 15 may have led her to use sex as a way to fill an emotional void. The confession prompted a sharp intake of breath from the viewers.
She uttered, "My dad died very young, I think I said that before when I was 15. And I spent a few misspent years thinking that was a good way of getting a kind of central male role- back into my body."
When Mariella tripped over her words, hilarity ensued in the studio audience. In a quick salvage operation, Nadia intervened, clarifying, "Missing the affection," a point on which Mariella concurred, reports the Mirror.

Continuing the discourse, Mariella commented on the evolving perspectives regarding casual sexual encounters.
Her candid admission followed: "I was trying to replace how you get affection back. But I think the thing that has changed enormously and I'm really happy about it, is that then it was a shameful thing.
"For a girl, it was a shameful thing to have a one-night stand. For a guy, it was a score."

"And I think that was very much the situation and for a girl you'd be embarrassed. You would sort of go 'Oh I can't believe I did that' and if they wouldn't call you, you'd feel really bad and you'd have the walk of shame but I think that has changed and sex is kind of normalised and boys are girls are much more comfortable."
But Nadia continued by pointing out that sadly, there's still a stigma attached to women who engage in one-night stands. However, she has heard that nowadays women are less judgmental towards each other concerning such encounters, which she views as a progressive shift in young adults' attitudes towards sex.
Loose Women airs weekdays on ITV1 and ITVX at 12.30pm
