APITS: Potential property located next to 'run down' house
In the latest instalment of Channel 4's A Place in the Sun, presenter Laura Hamilton was on a mission to assist Fran and Noel in their quest for the perfect holiday retreat.
The couple's house-hunting adventure unfolded in the picturesque Pueblos Blancos of Andalucia, armed with a £100,000 budget and a desire for a property boasting at least two bedrooms with a scenic view.
However, the initial stages of their search hit a snag when Noel quickly remarked on the small size and peculiar layout of the first property they visited.
Fran didn't mince words, expressing her dissatisfaction as she said: "It's too dark for me and too enclosed."
Noel also pointed out a particular aspect he found disagreeable, saying: "The bathroom - I wouldn't be happy with that... Having a bathroom so close to a kitchen."

Fran further added her concerns about the practicality of the layout: "I think about the bedrooms if I wanted to get up in the night and go to the loo I've got to come all the way down here. It's not feasible when I'm half asleep."
Their hopes were dashed as they ascended the stairs only to realise this property was not meant to be theirs, reports the Mirror.
The second viewing, however, brought more promise, a three-bedroom home in Cutar that immediately struck a chord with the pair.
Despite Fran's preference for a location lower down the mountain, they acknowledged the house as a strong candidate.
But the property hunt soon faced another downturn, with the subsequent options failing to live up to expectations.
Particularly disappointing was their third choice, which was instantly overshadowed by the dilapidated state of the neighbouring house.
Noel remarked: "It doesn't have the kerb appeal that I was hoping for."
Though they decided to inspect the interior, they were not swept off their feet as the exterior's appearance lingered in their minds.
At the conclusion of the search, the pair expressed to Laura their preference for the second property even though its location was a point of hesitation.
They did, however, acknowledge that the journey had clarified the area in which they desired to purchase their holiday retreat, and remained optimistic about future prospects.
The premiere left viewers feeling unimpressed, with many criticising the episode and the properties showcased.
One disgruntled viewer said: "Wasted a whole hour of my life watching this."
Another dissatisfied fan commented: "This week can only get better after that waste of an hour!"
Someone else wrote: "Let's hope they NEVER repeat this one."
While someone else voiced discontent, saying: "P**s poor first episode of the new series. Must try harder."
Although one person praised Laura's efforts, commenting: "Now it’s Laura using all her skills."
A Place in the Sun continues weekdays on Channel 4 from 4pm.
