ITV's Saturday Morning turns tense as James Martin confronts guest who 'embarrassed him'

There was some tension on the set of ITV Saturday Morning after James Martin confronted a guest who 'embarrassed' him years ago.

The TV chef and host was chatting to comedian Leigh Francis and their previous meeting on Celebrity Juice was brought up in conversation.

Martin admitted that he was left 'embarrassed' after he had to eat things from a sock.

Francis asked if he won his team for a point admitting he was surprised the lengths contestants would go to on the game show to win a point for his team.

He also admitted: "Were you on Holly's team? She was competitive, she always wanted to win."

James Martin said he was embarrassed after undergoing the task where he had to eat items from a sock without looking inside, and then guess what the items were.

However he did share that he won the point for undertaking the grim challenge.

Martin appeared on team captain's Holly Willoughby's team alongside singer Frankie Bridge from The Saturdays.

It wasn't the only time the ITV presenter claimed he was embarrassed by Francis antics as one of his characters Keith Lemon.

Elsewhere in the show, he confessed that he saw Francis perform in a restaurant before his big break on TV and said he thought: "What is that guy doing?".

Many fans enjoyed Francis's appearance on the ITV show on Saturday, with many commenting on how he appeared as himself and not in character.

The comic was talking about his recently released memoir, which he said he wrote because he turned 50 and wanted to mark the new chapter of his life.

One fan posted on social media: " Watching James Martin Saturday Morning with Leigh Francis/Keith Lemon/Avid Merrion. Memoir sounds like the most amazing book ever. Literally, who is Leigh Francis!? We have no idea, and I'd love to know!!"

James Martin's Saturday Morning continues on ITV at 9.30am next Saturday.
