Good Morning Britain reporter moved on by Spanish police
Good Morning Britain was interrupted by police presence this morning. Kate Garraway and Adil Ray were at the helm of the ITV show as they planned to speak to Jonathan Swain, who was covering the news of the devastating floods in Spain.
However, Kate explained that the news reporter had been "moved on" by local police instead. The ITV show then cut to a clip of the moment that the police stopped the broadcast.
The host explained: "We were going to return to speak to Jonathan some more, live from the scene. As you saw there, he was telling us how people there were really concerned and there were accusations of slowness of response, when in fact we can't speak to him live because he's been moved on by police.
"So, let's see how that unfolded." The show then cut to a clip of the reporter having a back-and-forth with the men in uniform. It appeared that the team had been planning to report on top of a building, on a terraced area, when police asked them to leave.
The reporter sighed before he appeared to show the officers some identification, and taking a swipe at them by saying: "I think you need to be searching for people, not journalists.

"I think we're the least of your problems. We're not the problem." The clip then showed the team leaving the building via the stairs, before cutting back to Kate and Adil in the ITV studio.
Adil said: "Well, that sums it up perfectly there. If you are the police and you are in that area, you're probably searching for the wrong people right now." Playing devil's advocate Kate added: "I mean I'm sure they do have responsibility to keep everyone safe but we have heard from Jonathan how concerned people are."
Fans on Twitter were outraged at the actions they had seen unfold before them. Taking to Twitter/X, one viewer desribed it as a "difficult watch". They said: " Difficult to see @SwainITV being moved by police in Spain, whilst he’s reporting on the Spanish floods in Valencia.

"I agree with him totally. They should be focusing on the effort to help the public, not moving on journalists who are trying to highlight the problems. #GMB."
Another wrote: "That Jonathan’s attitude was not good then. He’s right why are they not helping others out but he needs to be professional at the same time. #GMB."
While a third posted: "In my opinion he was right to highlight that the police should be helping their people, instead of moving on journalists. Many doubt #ClimateChange is a thing & so the work they’re doing is highlighting the effects of it. #GMB."
