Former Strictly Come Dancing star Ashton Merrygold was forced to address his previous "rule break" as he offered his support to fellow bandmate JB Gill.
The JLS superstar, 36, appeared on Thursday’s (October 31) episode of Lorrine Kelly’s self-titled ITV chat show alongside host Ranvir Singh and talk soon turned to the BBC hit dance competition.
Aston appeared on the show in 2017 alongside professional dance partner Janette Manrara, however he missed out on the win after losing the dreaded dance off against Mollie King and her partner AJ Pritchard.
Ranvir was quick to point out that he got sent home for “breaking the rules.” She said: “I remember Shirley said ‘you’re a brilliant dancer but that wasn’t ballroom'. So you sort of got sent home for breaking the rules.
Aston candidly admitted: “When you’re standing there you are just thinking ‘I’m not listening, I’m just trying to catch my breath’.”
Offering some advice to his bandmate JB Gills, who is currently taking part in the competition with Welsh pro Amy Dowden, he said: “Don’t do what I did.”
