Strictly Come Dancing's Halloween special was missing the magic of Wynne Evans and Katya Jones for a significant time, leaving fans spooked. The BBC's bewitching episode featured impressive and spine-chilling ensembles, but keen-eyed viewers were quick to spot that Wynne, aged 52, although initially glimpsed in devilish attire alongside pro dancer Katya, mysteriously disappeared from our screens for over 30 minutes.
Presenting duos Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman kicked off the ghoulish gala by welcoming the performing pairs along with the panel of judges. Yet after Wynne's fleeting moment dressed as a devil with Katya also in a sinister ensemble, they both seemed to vanish into thin air, noticeable by their absence on the traditional lofty contestant gathering spot.
Fans at home turned detectives, taking to social media with one commenting: "Where's Katya and Wyn? ", while another sought an explanation: "Is Wynne not allowed to be with Claudia and the other contestants at the top of the stairs? Have not seen him there all show."
One more speculated: "Are they deliberately keeping Wynne and Katya away from the cameras,".
The duo did return to grace the dance floor with a Salsa, amassing 31 points from judges before vanishing once again. Despite the dearth of sightings, the BBC has provided assurances to The Sun that Wynne had indeed been present in what's affectionately known as the 'Clauditorium', reports Birmingham Live.
It was only at around 7:40pm when the pair was eventually seen in the background during Shayne Ward and Nancy Xu's tete-a-tete with Claudia. This follows earlier disappointment this month where Wynne was reportedly left 'devastated' when Katya apparently moved his hand from her waist during a live performance.
Later, during a BBC Radio interview, Wynne expressed his distress: "I'm absolutely heartbroken by the things that have been written about me in the last day. It's not nice to live in that time, but basically Katya and I are really, really close and we're really good friends, and on Saturday night we made a stupid joke."
"It was a stupid joke that went wrong, OK? We thought it was funny. It wasn't funny. It was been totally misinterpreted."
