Bargain Hunt: Guests make huge profit
Fans of the BBC daytime show Bargain Hunt are up in arms after a recent shake-up to the programme’s format.
During Thursday’s episode, which was hosted by Christina Trevanion, viewers noticed the absence of a key segment.
Bargain Hunt sees a red and a blue team face off against each other in an attempt to make the most cash while flogging secondhand items.
Usually, each group is paired with an antiques expert who presents their finds to an auctioneer.
The auctioneer then provides their insights on how much money contestants can potentially make from each of their items.
However, this time the auctioneer's commentary was missing, leaving viewers disappointed.
Many took to social media to voice their frustration.
One fan posted: "Bl**dy awful without the auctioneer's comments."
Another lamented: "Why the change in format at the moment BBC? Don't like these shortened shows, miss auctioneer's comments."
There has been some speculation on whether this change is permanent or a one-time experiment, but the BBC has not commented on the shake up.
Despite the backlash, there were still moments of excitement during the episode.
The blue team made an impressive profit of £91 on a stone vessel, which they originally bought for £69.
Teammates Yvonne and Nash only bought the vase as the result of a coin toss because they couldn't agree on whether it was worth the high price.
However, when it sold for £160 in the end they were both thrilled with the decision, celebrating their victory with cheers and a hug.
