ITV viewers were left in tears just moments into the Daily Mirror's Pride of Britain Awards. The esteemed event, hosted by Carol Vorderman and Ashley Banjo, took place on Monday (October 21) at London's Grosvenor House Hotel and was broadcasted to the nation on Thursday (October 24).
Celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, the annual awards show honours ordinary individuals from across the UK who have shown extraordinary courage, performed acts of kindness or overcome adversities.
However, it wasn't long before viewers at home were moved to tears as the unsung heroes received their well-deserved accolades on stage.
One viewer, taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, wrote: "3 minutes in and I'm crying already." Another said: "Tissue at the ready." A third commented: "Sobbing already."
A fourth praised one of the awardees, writing: "Florrie is just absolutely incredible she is so positive considering what she is going through and is an inspiration." A fifth admitted: "Well, I'm sobbing and it's only the first story with Florrie- 2 hours of this I'll be in bits."

Earlier in the week, host Carol couldn't contain her emotions as she teared up discussing a Pride of Britain winner's story on ITV's This Morning. She appeared on the show alongside awardee Florrie Bark to discuss the prestigious event.
Florrie was over the moon when Little Mix's Perrie Edwards revealed that she had been selected for this year's Child of Courage award. The brave young girl has been battling acute myeloid leukaemia from a tender age and is currently on the waiting list for a lung transplant.
Her relentless positivity and her ability to uplift others with her story have truly made her a symbol of bravery. On This Morning, host Cat Deeley brought up Carol's long-time connection with the programme, leading the ex-Countdown star to share how much the show still means to her, becoming tearful as she admitted, "I'm having a moment".
