Netflix's popular series Beef is set to return with a star-studded cast for its second season.

The initial series revolved around the characters Danny Cho (played by Steven Yeun) and Amy Lau (Ali Wong), whose minor road rage incident spirals into an all-consuming feud.

As their animosity intensifies, it begins to dominate their lives in ways they never anticipated.

Although Danny and Amy's narrative has concluded, the show will persist as an anthology series featuring a fresh ensemble.

Netflix has announced that Hollywood heavyweights Oscar Isaac and Carey Mulligan, along with Charles Melton and Cailee Spaeny, will headline the new season.

Isaac is renowned for his roles in the latest Star Wars trilogy and Dune, while Carey Mulligan has received acclaim for her performances in Promising Young Woman and Maestro.

Melton rose to fame in the successful CW series Riverdale and earned a Golden Globe nomination for his role in May December. Spaeny has recently gained global recognition for her parts in Alien: Romulus, Civil War and Priscilla.

In a tantalising hint at what's to come, Tudum reveals: "This season's inciting incident? A young couple witnesses an alarming fight between their boss and his wife, triggering chess moves of favors and coercion in the elitist world of a country club and its Korean billionaire owner.", reports the Mirror.

With its talented ensemble and captivating concept, the second season of Beef is poised to be an unmissable event for Netflix viewers, but will it match the exceptional standards set by its predecessor?

One ardent fan on X (formerly Twitter) lavished praise on the series: "#BEEFNetflix is a masterwork of pettiness and jaw-dropping escalation, riotously funny and genuinely profound, digging into how "hurt people" hurt people.

"Steven Yuen and Ali Wong deliver world-class performances. 2023's best TV series so far."

"I just finished #BEEFNetflix #beef and wow. One of the best shows I've seen in a while," another fan raved.

"Exceptional performances all around. Yeun and Wong are fantastic. Funny, thrilling and anxiety inducing. What a show. Netflix has a WINNER."

A separate online reviewer awarded the show five stars, writing: "Beef is the epitome of the 21st century and is relatable to everyone while pushing things to the extreme. Steven Yuen and Ali Wong are perfect as rivals feuding over a mild road rage incident.
