Emmerdale: Kim Tate is Will Taylor's blackmailer
Soap fans are just discovering that Emmerdale legend Claire King, known for her role as Kim Tate, has a different real name.
The 62 year old actress, who first graced our screens in the 80s, made her debut on the ITV soap in 1989 and quickly became one of its most iconic characters.
She left the show in 1999 to pursue other opportunities but made a triumphant return 20 years later. Over the years, her character has been embroiled in some of the soap's biggest storylines, from scandalous affairs to even faking her own death.
Recently, she's been at war with her cheating ex-husband Will Taylor (Dean Andrews), who betrayed her with his former wife Rose Jackson (Christine Tremarco).
Despite this, recent episodes suggest a possible reconciliation between the pair, especially following the death of Zak Dingle (Steve Halliwell).
However, off-screen, fans have been surprised to learn that Claire King was born Jayne Claire Seed.
Fans of Emmerdale were left utterly flabbergasted when one fan revealed on a Facebook fan page that Claire King's real name is Jayne Seed.
The revelation sparked a stream of comments with one saying: "I was today year's old when I found out Clare King's real name is Jayne Seed," while another exclaimed: "No way, my mind is actually blown.", reports Leeds Live.

This comes as Claire King, renowned for her role in Emmerdale, celebrates a dramatic 38 years since she first graced the Dales.
However, her esteemed acting career extends beyond this iconic soap; she also starred in Hollyoaks as Andrea Mason QC from 2005 to 2012 and played Erica Holroyd in Coronation Street between 2014 and 2017.
Emmerdale airs weeknights on ITV1 and ITVX at 7.30pm
