Antiques Roadshow: Guest refuses to sell falcon sculpture
A guest on Antiques Roadshow was staggered to learn of the high valuation of his falcon sculpture, despite refusing to sell it.
The BBC show was in Crystal Palace Park in south east London last October and during the 2023 episode one guest revealed that he had come in possession of a falcon sculpture.
Will Farmer explored how the guest came in possession of the ceramic masterpiece, who revealed that his late aunt was given it from famed ceramic Ken Bright.
Ken, who studied at Goldsmiths, used to go to bird observatories to study the birds of prey.
They both discovered that it was made in December 1978, when Ken was at the peak of his ceramic career.

The real question was how much the falcon was in value, but much to the disappointment of Will, the guest was not going to sell it.
Will said: "I love it. I really genuinely love it," to which the guest snapped back. "I'm keeping it though."
As Will chuckled, he said: "I know you're keeping it, unfortunately.
"So, I am going to say if it came to market - great name, iconic piece for his work and what's he's doing - I think it could be up to about a thousand pounds."
"Very nice," the guest said. "Still not going anywhere."

Will smiled and said: "Well, do you know what? It's nice that you've got that connection with her."
Also during the episode, Mark Smith discovered a cigar which belonged to Winston Churchill whilst Justin Croft saw some rare, early edition James Bond books.
