Peter Kay is set to return to the small screen this Christmas, following a lengthy hiatus from TV in recent years.
The much-loved Boltonian, who has recently stepped back into the public eye after a long break, will feature in the new Wallace and Gromit film Vengeance Most Fowl, taking on the role of Chief Inspector Macintosh.
The trailer for the forthcoming film offers fans of the animated duo a glimpse into their latest escapades. A recent crime wave of stolen garden goods has hit the area, with Wallace and his pre-programmed smart gnome, Norbot, becoming the prime suspects.
Despite Wallace's assertions of innocence, it falls to Gromit once again to combat the malevolent forces at play. The film also sees the return of Feathers McGraw, fresh out of jail and seeking revenge - his last appearance was in the 1993 BAFTA and Academy Award-winning short The Wrong Trousers.
Alongside Peter Kay, viewers can look forward to cameo appearances from Diane Morgan (Afterlife), Adjoa Andoh (Bridgerton), Muzz Khan (Brassic) and Lenny Henry, reports the Mirror.

Peter Kay has emphatically returned to the comedy scene, much to the joy of his legion of fans. The beloved comedian is currently enchanting audiences during his massive UK tour.
The funnyman will perform an incredible 110 performances lined up across 2023, 2024, and 2025 a whopping 40 of them at Manchester's prestigious AO Arena.
Following the abrupt cancellation of his 2018/19 tour due to "unforeseen family circumstances", which saw him step out of the limelight, Peter, famed for Phoenix Nights, remained a rare sight for public eyes.
However, he made an unexpected comeback during a charity event for his hit series Car Share in 2018 and was later seen on a tram ride in Blackpool come April 2019.
April 2020 saw him shine in the BBC's Big Night In, recreating Tony Christie's iconic Amarillo music video, and then stormed back onto the scene with an April 2022 performance in Manchester, followed by shows in Liverpool.

Fast forward to November 2022, and we witnessed the emotional moment as Peter, on his first live comedy tour in over a decade, was visibly moved to tears by a thunderous standing ovation from the crowd on the opening night.
Chants of his name filled the air as he took to the stage, leading him to take a moment, resting against a stool, before tearfully asking the crowd, "Oh Jesus look at me, I mean what's that all about... how am I supposed to do bloody comedy now? "
This heartwarming show of vulnerability marked the start of laughter for the evening. Peter scrapped his 2018/19 tour, releasing a statement at the time.
