Strictly Come Dancing fans were united in their reaction as Pete Wicks debuted his revamped appearance during the show's latest instalment.

The 36 year old celebrity returned to the dance floor with his professional partner Jowita Przysta, ready to wow the judges with a Quickstep to "Town Called Malice" by The Jam.

But before the pair showcased their new routine, they offered fans a glimpse of their costumes and Pete's hair makeover sparked quite the buzz among the audience at home.

Flocking to X, previously known as Twitter, one viewer exclaimed: "OMG Pete looks so different."

Another was smitten, commenting: "Pete Wicks in a 1950s style omg my clothes just fell off #strictly.", reports the Mirror.

A third chimed in: "PETE'S HAIR? ! #strictly."

while a fourth questioned: "Are they sure that was Pete Wicks."

This comes as body language and behavioural specialist Darren Stanton, speaking on behalf of Betfair Slots, has indicated he believes Pete and Jowita could be contenders for the final after achieving their highest score yet of 26 out of 40 points last weekend.

Darren Stanton observed: "Pete Wicks has a very good chance at making the final already. He's definitely shown he's capable of anything, and at this stage, that's very promising."

"He could potentially win. He and Jowita have a very strong connection and you can see that from the way they communicate is effortless through physical touches, eye contact and general synchronisation."

While Pete and Jowita could be about to dance all the way to the final, Darren expressed his concern for EastEnders star Jamie Borthwick and his dance partner Michelle Tsiakkas, predicting a possible exit this weekend.

He remarked: "I believe Jamie and Michelle will be in trouble this week. While they seem strong as a pairing in terms of their level of rapport, which continues to build, the judges will be less and less forgiving of small technical faults."

"We are seeing the judges become more critical and picky when it comes to their routines. Jamie's levels of confidence are slipping. I'm not seeing what it takes to get through to the latter point of the competition, they're not quite as well-connected as some of the other couples higher up the leaderboard."
