This Morning: Ben laughs at conkers cleaning hack segment glitch

Wednesday's broadcast of This Morning on ITV got off to a less than smooth start as viewers noticed presenters Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley dealing with some unexpected mishaps live on-air.

As the show opened, the duo was seen in the kitchen, with Cat struggling with what seemed to be tech equipment.

Ben announced to the audience: "We had a rogue earpiece go AWOL as we came on air."

To which Cat humorously responded: "It did! And the avocado has rolled off. I mean, it doesn't bode well ladies and gents! You may want to buckle up and get ready to come with us on this flight."

The banter continued as her co-host playfully urged her to keep things under control, before they moved on to tease the day's upcoming features.

Yet technical troubles weren't the sole hiccups of the morning; observant viewers spotted other blunders.

Prior to chatting with guest Matt Lucas, former star of Bake Off, both hosts engaged in an out-of-the-ordinary segment, reports the Mirror.

Cat revealed to viewers a surprising fact that thousands of Brits endure injuries from avocados annually, prompting a question about their safe use and storage.

The show then transitioned to a report from Mark Babbins in Folkestone, but not without another error cropping up, the misspelling of 'Folkestone', missing its crucial 'e'.

Audiences were quick to jump on Twitter, voicing their displeasure at the oversight.

One social media user pointed out a geographical gaffe, saying: "I thought it was FolkEstone..." Another one chimed in with frustration: "You have spelt my town's name wrong. It is FOLKESTONE."

A third expressed their dismay by pinpointing the error: "Folkstone."

In further enquiries, another individual quizzed: "Where is 'Folkstone'?"

During the cooking tutorial, Mark showcased the correct technique for handling an avocado without injury.

Ben, keen for precision, requested a repeat demonstration for the benefit of viewers, remarking: "A lot of people stab themselves while trying to get the stone out."

He encouraged Mark for clarity on a safe method, adding: "Can you slowly do the stone bit again? I've seen, one of our chefs has done this for us in the past, that's where I've learnt how to do it and that's the secret to not stabbing yourself."

This Morning continues weekdays on ITV from 10am.
