Phillip Schofield hits out at his former colleagues as he claims they "threw him under the bus" in his new show, Cast Away.

The presenter, 62, will take part in the three-part Channel 5 series which will see him marooned on a Madagascan island. The ex-ITV star's return to screens comes 16 months after he was dropped from This Morning following the admission he had an "unwise but not illegal" affair with a young male colleague.

Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly both receive a mention in Phillip's new show, however, he refrains from speaking about former co-host Holly Willoughby.

He does take multiple swipes at his former colleagues however, which will no doubt leave fans wondering if any are aimed at ex-best pal Holly.

"When you throw someone under a bus, you've got to have a really bloody good reason to do it," he tells the camera.

Phillip continues: "I got into telly because I love the nuts and bolts of telly, I never wanted to be famous. I'm not fussed about that. I miss parts of it. I miss most of it, I'm honest. But there are bits that I really, really, really don't miss."

"You learn a lot about people. I don't miss that," he adds. In the documentary, Phillip appears to mock Holly's famous This Morning "OK" intro which she said after his departure.

Upon Phillip's shocking and sudden exit from the award-winning daytime programme, Holly, 43, addressed viewers with a message, starting: "Firstly, are you OK?"

While having a barbecue with his wife Stephanie and their two daughters, Molly, 31, and Ruby, 28, he jokingly asked: "If you're okay, then we're okay and I'm okay. Are you okay?"

The show will also offer perspectives from Stephanie, who remains friendly with Phillip. She sheds light on the broader effects of their personal issues, commenting: "What people don't realise if they batter you but then there are other people affected."

Later in the show, Phillip recalls his tenure on This Morning, describing it as a "joy" and a "privilege" and expresses gratitude for an extraordinary four-decade career until its abrupt end in 2023.

The veteran presenter is believed to have turned down a number of huge TV deals before signing up to survival show Cast Away, which he believes is the perfect place to tell his story in an "unedited and honest" way.
