Grace: ITV issues warning to viewers

Grace viewers all issued the same complaint as they tuned into the latest instalment of the ITV crime drama on Sunday (September 15) evening.

The third episode of the new series followed Detective Superintendent Roy Grace (John Simm) and the team as they investigated the disapperance of young girl Logan Somerville.

Grace and Branson were thrown into what is possibly their most disturbing and high-profile case yet when an unsettling discovery of skeletal remains was unearthed by workmen digging up a path in central Brighton.

Meanwhile, across the city that same morning, Logan got snatched in broad daylight. With no witnesses and no sign of who took her, Grace started to suspect whether the victim’s fiancé could be lying to the police.

As Logan was held against her will and trapped in a dark coffin-like box, viewers at home rushed to social media to share their thoughts on the "disturbing" scenes.

Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, one fan posted: #grace way to gruesome for 8.20 on a #Sunday night this is after the #watershed stuff." Another added: "Blimey this is a bit grim for a Sunday night lads #Grace."

A third person said: "#grace I'm going to have to turn it off." Someone else said: "Too disturbing. Off #grace." A fifth said: "#grace F**k this. It's too horrific for words." A six social media user said: "I’m no prude, but this is a bit grim for the 8-9pm pre-watershed hour. #Grace."

However, before ITV aired the latest episode, the voiceover issued a warning telling fans: "With some scenes of violence now on ITV1 a case that could possibly be the most disturbing yet for DS Grace."
