Strictly: Stars feature in pre-recorded opening to launch show
Strictly Come Dancing enthusiasts are convinced they've predicted the winner for the show's 2024 series.
The renowned BBC One programme dazzled viewers once again on Saturday (September 14) as it embarked on its milestone 20th series. Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman returned to usher in a fresh line-up of 15 celebrities eager to hit the dance floor during the pre-taped launch episode.
Stars such as JB Gill, Tasha Ghouri, and Nick Knowles have all joined the fray, dancing their way into the competition with hopes of securing a place in the finale and capturing the coveted Glitterball trophy.
Judges Shirley Ballas, Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse, and Anton Du Beke resumed their roles to offer their first impressions on the new partnerships. The latest series also hails the much-anticipated return of beloved professional dancer Amy Dowden following her brave battle with breast cancer.
Nonetheless, viewers believe they have already identified this year's victor. In the recorded opener, fans were informed that Sarah Hadland would be teaming up with Vito, the previous years champion, prompting speculation that he might clinch the title yet again, reports the Mirror.
Flocking to X, the platform previously known as Twitter, supporters have been vocal in backing Sarah for victory. One fan proclaimed: "SARAH AND VITO MY WINNERS."
Another enthusiast echoed: "Vito and Sarah! Winners! !."
A third supporter expressed: "I can see Vito winning again, go Sarah! " While another confidently posted: "My winner," accompanied by a picture of Sarah from the programme.
Sarah, who's made waves on BBC sitcom Miranda with Miranda Hart and Tom Ellis, not to mention her appearances in CBBC's Horrible Histories and a minor role in James Bond, couldn't hide her enthusiasm about taking part in Strictly.
Speaking to the BBC, she said: "I cannot believe I am part of Strictly. I feel particularly excited to be part of such an iconic show in its 20th year. I'm so ready for the glitz, glam and glitter and hopefully I can make everyone watching at home proud."
