Netflix's Selling Sunset star Alanna Gold retracts extraordinary claim after huge backlash

Selling Sunset's latest star, Alanna Gold, has already made waves in just one season after joining the elite Oppenheim group on the hit Netflix series. The real estate newcomer found herself in hot water and issued an apology to Pioneertown locals in California for falsely claiming she owned the town during the show's eighth season.

Alanna boasted to fellow cast member Bre Tiesi about her supposed ownership of the quaint town, even planning a girl's trip to flaunt Pioneertown to her new friends. But the episode's broadcast sparked outrage among residents, prompting a sharp rebuke in the Pioneertown Gazette.

The Gazette's statement slammed Alanna's assertions: "These claims belittle generations of artists, neighbours, nature lovers, community members, musicians, small business owners and otherwise magnificent people of Pioneertown."

It further clarified the ownership situation: "Pioneertown is a mile-square census-designated community with over 400 residents and is privately owned by more than 100 independent parties.

"Mrs Gold has a small minority non-controlling interest in an entity that owns six of thirty-five parcels in the Mane Street area, constituting less than 1% of Pioneertown's total 640 acres. The claim that she owns the 'entire town' is verifiably false."

Following the backlash, Alanna retracted her exaggerated claims and extended an olive branch to the community, reports the Mirror.

In a heartfelt confession to People magazine, she stated: "I wanted to reach out to personally say I am so deeply sorry for the confusion I have caused.

"I certainly do not own Pioneertown, I never should have said that and I apologize for doing so. I want you to know that I did not mean any harm, I absolutely love Pioneertown and I simply got too excited talking about it."

She continued to share personal ties to the town, revealing how she and her husband Adam had their first date there as well as their wedding, before they went on to invest in property.

Wrapping up, she expressed deep regret: "Again, I am so sorry to the people of Pioneertown, I would never want to disrespect the town's history or any of the people who make it such a wonderful place."

Beyond her work as a high-end real estate agent at the Oppenheim group, Alanna is acclaimed as a successful model, having collaborated with prestigious labels like Tom Ford.

Her professional path in luxury real estate began in 2020 at Westside Estate Agency prior to her role at Oppenheim, as per her LinkedIn details.

The Oppenheim realtor and model got engaged to hospitality guru Adam Gold in 2019, celebrating the occasion on social media with an array of photos.
