BBC chiefs are reportedly transforming Stacey Solomon and Joe Swash into the UK's answer to The Osbournes, having secured the green light for a fly-on-the-wall series set in their bustling Essex abode.

The upcoming show, titled Escape to Pickle Cottage, is slated for next year and will spotlight the high-spirited life of the couple and their lively brood of six children, ranging from toddlers to teens.

BBC executives are "delighted" with the acquisition, which promises to offer viewers an intimate glimpse into the pair's hectic lives as they navigate work commitments, childcare, and family dynamics.

Produced by Optomen TV, the same team behind Stacey's successful programme Sort Your Life Out - which has been renewed for a fifth season - the series will air on BBC One.

A source told The Mirror: "Who needs the Kardashians or the Osbournes when you've got Stacey and Joe? The BBC might not seem like an obvious home for this kind of project but they have developed a great working relationship over the years so this felt like a natural progression."

The source continued: "It's great that Stacey and Joe are going to let viewers into their lives. It might be chaos but it's organised chaos!

"Everyone's excited to see what the cameras will find - does Stacey still hang up her crisps on pegs now she's got her hands full with three children aged under four? Does Joe always cook as though he's competing on Celebrity Masterchef? All of this and far more will soon become clear."

The insider concluded with anticipation: "It's really going to be a lot of fun. Everyone is delighted they agreed to let the cameras in and this will be something a bit different for BBC One."

Former X Factor star Stacey, now a regular on ITV's Loose Women, entered her relationship with Joe in 2016, already a mother to two sons, Zachary, 15, and Leighton, 11. Joe also has a son named Harry, 16, from a previous relationship.

Together, they have since welcomed Rex, four, Rose, two, and one year old Belle.

The family resides in a £1.2million Tudor-style cottage, nestled within 2.5 acres of land, complete with an outdoor swimming pool and a duck pond. Stacey, 34, recently shared that her "crazy family" has adopted several female ducks to balance the male-female ratio.

On September 1, Stacey announced she had already decorated her home for Halloween, her "favourite time of year", and even designed a spooky range for George at Asda. However, Joe, 42, was less than thrilled, stating: "I'm not walking around in a ghost house. It's Halloween or me."
