Tony Blackburn's nostalgic fans will be in for a treat as he's announced a live tour aimed at rekindling the sounds of the 1960s.

The BBC Radio 2 legend will be appearing at no fewer than 28 locations around the UK in 2025 to share music from his early days in radio. This run of dates from his Sounds of the 60s tour is extra-special as he'll be celebrating his 60th anniversary on the airwaves.

The tour will be an adaptation of his 1960s radio show, which attracts millions of listeners each week, and will be brought up a notch thanks to performances from the Sounds of the 60s All Star Band. The group's renditions will include favourites by Diana Ross & The Supremes, The Everly Brothers, Elvis, The Beatles, The Beach Boys, The Drifters, Stevie Wonder and Marvin Gaye.

Meanwhile, especially for 2025, the band will be adding updated medleys from The Rolling Stones and The Walker Brothers. Tickets for the 60s extravaganza go on sale on Monday, September 9.

The tour kicks off in Woking on March 4 at the New Victoria Theatre, followed by visits to Manchester Bridgewater Hall on March 12, Gateshead Glasshouse on March 13, Ipswich Regent on March 20, Cornwall's Truro Hall on March 24 and Torquay's Princess Theatre on March 25. April will kick off with a show at the Buxton Opera House on the first day of the month, followed by visits to Bath, Canterbury and Cheltenham.

He'll put on an epic show in Birmingham and Basingstoke in May, while June is a busier month featuring shows in Brighton, Milton Keynes, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Cardiff and Leeds.

July will feature just a single date at the Northampton Royal and Derngate, but don't fear if your nearest city isn't listed as there are many more venues in store throughout the latter half of the year.

September will see Tony appear at Llandudno in North Wales, followed by Liverpool, Bournemouth and York.

Weymouth, Chatham, Folkestone and Southend - in his native Essex - follow in October, while the touring year draws to a close with an explosive finale at the Bristol Hippodrome on November 24.

Tony is celebrating 60 years since his first radio appearance back in the summer of 1964, when the Beatles' 'Can't Buy Me Love' was the top selling song of the year.

He started his broadcasting journey on the pirate station Radio Caroline, before switching to the BBC in 1967, where he'd become the first voice ever heard on Radio 1.

His epic career is clearly something worth celebrating - and the award-winner has been noted numerous times for "outstanding contributions to radio" over the years.

However, it's his relatively recent Sounds of the 60s show, which started in 2017 on Radio 2, which will take the spotlight on this year's tour.
