EastEnders: Bernie visits Dean in prison

EastEnders is gearing up to broadcast the much-anticipated Keanu Taylor murder trial. However, before The Six can even step foot in court, Bernie Taylor (Clair Norris) seeks answers ahead of the accused murderer Dean Wicks' (Matt Di Angelo) testimony.

The week's drama begins with Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean) vehemently denying to Bernie that she murdered Keanu (Danny Walters) during the festive season.

Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) arrives to back her best friend Sharon, but their conversation is cut short by Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) as Albie embarks on his first day at school.

A worried Sharon is distraught about missing her son's milestone and frets over the impending trial, causing Linda to become fearful. Fortunately, Phil is there to reassure them both.

Wanting to reciprocate Linda's support, Sharon requests Suki Panesar (Balvinder Sopal) and Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth) to keep an eye on Linda before she testifies against Dean, reports the Daily Star.

However, as the trial commences, Sharon falters under cross-examination from Dean's lawyer who begins to unearth details from her past. The situation rapidly intensifies, potentially affecting The Six.

Overwhelmed, Linda flees the courtroom before delivering her witness statement, leaving Sharon aghast.

The Six nervously await news following these events, while Johnny Carter (Charlie Suff) and Phil team up to locate the missing Linda.

Later in the week, in scenes set to air on Wednesday (September 4), The Six are left reeling as a significant update in Dean's trial has far-reaching implications for the group, indicating their ordeal is far from over.

Under extreme pressure, one member of the group makes a choice they may later regret, and by week's end, The Six continue their struggle for freedom.

In the meantime, Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner) attempts to distract herself from Dean's trial by focusing on Charli's first birthday, but ends up burning the cake.

The child's festivities also witness Eve Unwin (Heather Peace) losing her temper with girlfriend Suki after she opts out of the party, but she has larger problems to contend with.

As the Slaters assemble for Charli's karaoke party, it doesn't take long for things to go awry when Stacey is compelled to leave her granddaughter's special occasion.

Lily (Lillia Turner) is disappointed when Charli's first birthday party doesn't proceed as planned, but she is later touched by a unique gift that commemorates her first year as a mother.

Will Linda be found? Is Dean convicted of Keanu's murder?

EastEnders enthusiasts will have to tune in to watch the drama unfold in episodes airing from Monday, September 2, at 7:30pm on BBC One and iPlayer.
