Casualty fans were left devastated for Cam Mickelthwaite (Barney Walsh) on Saturday night (August 24) as the BBC drama revealed the shocking death of Jamie Cleveland (Ryan Hawley).
In recent episodes of the medical drama, Cam has been forced to face his past when his former mentor Jamie joined the Holby hospital. He also reconnected with old friend Bobby, who accused Jamie of sexually abusing him as a child and Cam eventually confessed to Siobhan McKenzie (Melanie Hill) that he too was a victim.
In the latest episode, Iain Dean (Michael Stevenson) and the emergency team responded to a car crash incident where a vehicle had plummeted down a steep gorge days earlier. Rich Walker (Michael Keogh) found no signs of life from the driver, later identified as Jamie, but Iain managed to detect a pulse.
Upon hearing that Jamie was being rushed into the ED, Siobhan warned Cam, advising him to keep his distance. However, Cam insisted on assisting and stepped in when Jodie Whyte (Anna Chell) had to leave the emergency room, reports the Mirror.

During one scene, an emotional Cam found himself alone with Jamie and took the opportunity to question him about the incident. Jamie disclosed that Bobby had forced him off the road, a confession overheard by Dylan Keogh (William Beck).
Cam was then left shattered after confronting Jamie about his history of sexual abuse, seeking the truth he so desperately needed. But as Jamie refused to speak, the situation escalated, with Cam telling him that his death would go unnoticed.
Tragically, the dire prediction took a turn for the worse when Jamie's heart gave way. Despite frantic efforts to revive him, the medical team couldn't keep him alive, and Cam was forced to watch in horror as life slipped away from Jamie.
The sudden death threw Casualty's audience into a state of shock, sympathising intensely with Cam, who now faced the bleak prospect of never getting justice against Jamie.
Distraught viewers quickly expressed their emotions on social media, with one saying: "Cams never going to get the justice he deserves now #Casualty" and another commenting in disbelief: "Omg he has died! #Casualty."
