The Grand Tour: One for the Road - Official trailer

Jeremy Clarkson had a poignant message for viewers as he and his motoring partners in crime James May and Richard Hammond get set to say goodbye to The Grand Tour.

Prime Video have released the teaser trailer for the last ever episode One For the Road which gives a taste of what fans can expect.

While most of the clip features The Hollies classic track He Ain’t Heavy, He’s My Brother playing over the top in a moving moment an emotional Jeremy turns to the camera before beginning to drive and says: "So, for the last time... here we go."

The finale of the motoring travelogue was filmed in Zimbabwe last year. The trio shot it shortly after they'd visited Mauritania for their penultimate instalment, Sand Job which was released in February this year.

It marks the end of the trio's 22-year working relationship which began on Top Gear before they moved to the streaming service in 2016.

For this final episode they are travelling in three cars they’ve always wanted to own, a Lancia Montecarlo, a Ford Capri 3-litre, and a Triumph Stag for a stunning road trip through beautiful and sometimes challenging landscapes.

The trailer indicates that all the usual elements of their shows are featured here. At points they share a laugh after a mishap, Hammond and May attempt to fix a broken down vehicle, and they drive alongside each other at high-speed in picturesque areas.

Fans were emotional when they trailer landed and rushed to the show's official Instagram account to share their reactions.

"I’m actually gonna cry throughout this episode," one fan admitted after watching the teaser.

A second had a similar reaction writing: "I am going to cry when watching this... A part of my childhood is ending."

"We knew this was coming but it doesn’t hurt any bit less…" a third lamented.

A fourth said: "And so, The 3 Wise Men have reached the end of their journey. Thanks for everything chaps."

Meanwhile a fifth chimed in: "We are so gonna miss you beautiful people. Thanks for all the laughs and for being the backbone of the car enthusiast community for longer than we deserved." (sic)

The Grand Tour: One for the Road drops on Amazon Prime Video on September 13.
