Coronation Street: Bethany Platt gives Nathan Curtis phone to DS Swain
Coronation Street has appeared to confirm the upcoming death of a fan-favourite character.
Earlier this year, DS Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers) made a return to the cobbles as part of the missing Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton) investigation. As fans will recall, Lauren went missing from Weatherfield back at the start of the year - with the troubled youngster being presumed dead.
However, Lauren made her shock return recently - and it was revealed that it was sicko solicitor Joel Deering (Calum Lill) who was behind her disappearance.
Joel wormed his way into Lauren’s life after helping her out with bills, eventually coercing her into a sexual relationship. He then left he for dead after bashing her head in, following a heated argument where Lauren mentioned fiancee Dee-Dee Bailey’s (Channique Sterling-Brown) name.
As well as that, he fathered her newborn baby and recently tried to kill her, drugging her in a desperate attempt to kill the baby. His sickening plan didn't work though, as she went into labour early and the baby survived.
Meanwhile, Joel has also found himself being blackmailed by newbie Betsy Swain (Sydney Martin) - the daughter of DS Lisa Swain.
Betsy has been blackmailing Joel for a few weeks after she noticed his creepy behaviour towards her friend Sabrina. Last week though, Joel lost his temper and dragged Betsy into the ginnel before threatening her.
Betsy eventually confided in her copper mum - who soon questioned Joel. And while it seemed he managed to talk his way out of it by spinning a web of lies, Lisa’s face made it clear she was onto him.

However, it is a past comment that Lisa said that has got plenty of fans concerned. In a recent episode, the officer was heard saying that she would "take a bullet" for her daughter.
Now, fans are certain this is foreshadowing Lisa’s potential death on the soap. Rushing over to X, formerly known as Twitter, one person said: “‘I'd take a bullet for her’ Really DS Swain? Let's just hope this isn't #Corrie totally foreshadowing for his eventual exit story...” (sic)
Someone else added: “Please don’t let that bullet be fatal for DI Swain. Seems like this storyline is getting toward the climax.” (sic)
A third penned: “‘I would take a bullet for my daughter’ Is that some foreshadowing for Swain in upcoming scenes? Will Joel have a gun held against her daughter Betsy?” (sic)
