Fans of ITV's The Chase were less than impressed with this evening's rerun (August 15). As host Bradley Walsh welcomed four new players to take on chaser Darragh 'The Menace' Ennis, as fans at home threatened to 'switch off'.

Steve from Manchester, Callum from Somerset, Jan from Herefordshire and Sharon from Essex worked together as a team as they tested their wits against the ITV quiz master. They hoped not to be caught as they had their eyes on the prize as they added to the cash pot.

But as the Chaser was announced to be Darragh, fans were disappointed. Taking to social media, just minutes into the show, they complained and shared that they were "turning off".

One user said: "Mr boring. I'm off #thechase." While another added: "F**k this. Slaters Chasers #TheChase." A third penned: "I'm already sick of this #TheChase."

But not everyone was upset, with Darragh being a fan favourite among many viewers. One social media user posted: "The Menace YAY my favourite Chaser #TheChase." Another quipped: "#TheChase calm down ladies it's Darragh today".

On yesterday's episode Brad showed some concern for his chaser friend, Mark Labbett. The quizzer, also known as The Beast, seemed to have a somewhat huskier voice than normal as he appeared on the ITV show.

The first player of the day got into a bit of back and forth with The Beast about Greggs, the pastry shop. His voice sounded a bit croaky as he said: "They [Greggs] love seeing me turn up. I'm on course for the world record of most different ones visited."

Brad picked up on the change in Mark's voice as he quizzed him on whether he was feeling okay. Seemingly concerned, the TV host said: "You don't sound very well, what's up with you?" But Mark just smiled in response as the game continued.

Outside of The Chase, ITV regular Mark has had his fair share of challenges, including his most recent health woes.

Back in 2017, Mark was diagnosed with diabetes and the shocking health diagnosis urged him to make a complete overhaul of his lifestyle.

"I think me being diagnosed as a diabetic was like a three-bottle-a-day alcoholic being told that they have cirrhosis of the liver," he told Express.co.uk in 2021. He continued: "I used to have 10 to 12 chocolate bars a day. Sugar was my vice."

The Chase airs weekdays from 5pm on ITV and ITVX
