Emmerdale: Belle tells Tom she is leaving the village
Emmerdale viewers were given a hint of Tom King's scheme for Belle Dingle in Wednesday's episode. Despite Belle calling it quits on their marriage, Tom has remained fixated on his wife. He had been exercising coercive control over her for months, manipulating and isolating her from her family.
After he became violent, the situation worsened and Belle left Tom in a recent episode. She hasn't yet revealed to anyone in the village why she ended things or the abuse she has suffered.
This has allowed Tom to portray himself as the concerned husband and victim, as if Belle is solely responsible. Since Belle's departure, he has continued to bombard her with messages and frequently asks her loved ones about her.
With Belle set to return to the village this week, Wednesday's episode saw Tom scheming something and looking quite satisfied. He hasn't stopped telling his family how much he wants Belle back, despite being advised to give her the space she needs, reports the Mirror.

In the latest episode, he was back to plotting, eagerly anticipating Belle's return and even sneaking into their home during her absence, despite supposed to be staying elsewhere.
He soon disclosed that he had a plan in place, as he was seen on the phone discussing something he'd arranged for Belle.
While he didn't disclose what it was, he asked the person on the other end of the line not to tell Belle and to keep it between them. As he hung up the phone, he began smirking, but what is he planning?

New teasers have unveiled Tom's cunning plan as he strives to win Belle back and manipulate her once again. She is shocked when he appears in their home on Thursday, and he once more tries to persuade her to give their relationship another shot.
Before this, it emerges that the phone conversation was Tom purchasing a car for Belle, as he surprises her with a vintage mini. Tom quickly causes stress for Belle when he discloses his desire to discuss them reuniting.
She stands her ground, leading him to try and guilt-trip her into reconciling. He pulls out all the stops to convince her, but Belle remains firm, with him eventually leaving - however, it's revealed he's not finished yet, and a plot twist is confirmed.
This precedes Tom's departure from the show, with James Chase stepping down from the role. It's speculated that he's filmed his final scenes, although this has yet to be confirmed.
Emmerdale airs weeknights on ITV1 and ITVX at 7.30pm
