Naga Munchetty makes playful dig at Mike Bushell

BBC Breakfast's Naga Munchetty made a cheeky dig at her co-star live on air during the latest edition of the morning show. The 49-year-old presenter was back on the famous red sofa with co-host Charlie Stayt on Saturday (August 10) and they woke up the nation with the latest headlines from across the globe.

Sports presenter Mike Bushell was on hand to share some Olympics news as the competitors prepare for the penultimate day of the competition in Paris.

Breaking - a style of street dance that originated in 1970s New York - has been introduced to attract new and younger audiences to the Games with head-spinning, DJs and a whole new vocabulary taking centre stage.

Bringing his segment to a close, Mike said: "And I know you enjoyed that too as well Naga, the Breaking. A really great addition to the games I think."

Naga agreed: "I did but I'm not sure I'm going to try it." He replied: "Oh no, you don't have to participate in all the sports, just enjoy watching them." She replied: "But you are tempted to trying it."

Matt admitted: "Well yeah, in the privacy in my own room." Naga playfully hit back: "Yeah probably better that way" before Charlie ended their conversation saying "Mike, thank you very much."

The BBC staple, which airs on the channel seven days a week, was then forced to switch channels as telly bosses made a significant schedule change.

Viewers could watch the news show for just 45 minutes on Saturday on BBC One, from 6am to 6.45am. Then they needed to channel hop to BBC Two as the programme continued, with coverage of the Paris 2024 Olympics taking pride of place on BBC One.

It comes after Naga and Charlie's show on Friday (August 9) was hit with chaos on-air. Naga had been presenting a segment when footage scheduled to play on a screen behind her failed to do so.

After a long pause on the article about campaign Farm Watch, Naga addressed the mishap and said: "Well you could have had a look but we haven't got it, unfortunately. But what we can do is show you a feed in this moment in time..."

After showing the video, Naga realised another error occurred as she added: "Well, it is a frozen combine harvester. This is great."

BBC Breakfast airs daily on BBC One at 6am
