Emmerdale spoilers: Samson exit twist, Sugden bombshell and missing Rose update

Emmerdale is set to air a string of dramatic events in next weeks episode and it could spell the end for Samson Dingle (played by Sam Hall). In upcoming scenes, Moira Dingle (Natalie J. Robb) can't hide her contempt for Samson after his lies landed her innocent son Matty Barton (Ash Palmisciano).

The scheming teenager told the police Matty had stabbed him leading to a terrifying prison ordeal before he was finally released.

But next week sees Samson finally finding the bravery to stand up to Josh (Osian Morgan). However, Samson's parents Sam (James Hooton) and Lydia (Karen Blick) are soon horrified when he gets arrested for assaulting the bully.

Meanwhile, Moira is satisfied as she watches Samson heading to the police station with her husband, Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley), suspicious whether his wife was involved in his arrest.

Later in the week, over at The Woolpack, Amelia Spencer (Daisy Campbell) is awaits news of Samson's plea hearing.

She agonises over the repercussions for her daughter, Esther, of having her biological dad locked up in prison.

Later, The Woolpack is silenced when Lydia enters with news from court, will she tell the pub Samson has left the village? Or will be be a free man?

Elsewhere, there is a new face in the village as John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth) arrives. His enterance comes as Eric Pollard's (Chris Chittell) car breaks down, preventing him from attending an old friend's funeral.

Victoria Sugden (Isabel Hodgins) steps in to help, offering to drive him there. However, upon their arrival at the church, Victoria inadvertently causes a stir with the grieving son at his mother's funeral.

She is taken aback when she learns his name is John Sugden. Later, Eric awkwardly reveals that John could potentially be her half-brother and the son of her late father, Jack Sugden (Clive Hornby).

In an unexpected turn of events, Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb) receives a call about a nearby breakdown back in the village, and it turns out to be John, who has just arrived.

Eric and Victoria are surprised to see John again, and his presence in the village soon stirs things up.

Meanwhile, across the village, Will Taylor (Dean Abdrews) and Kim Tate (Claire King) look guilty over Rose Jackson's (Christine Tremarco) disappearance as they both wonder about the other and continue to snap at each other. It's clear their marriage is still on the rocks.

It's not long until Dawn Taylor (Olivia Bromley) arrives, suggesting they hire a private investigator to find her mising mum Rose, which leaves the duo guilty with Will at a loss for how to reply.

Kim comes up with a plan with Will to put Dawn off the scent and to call off her search for Rose, proposing they send a message from Rose's phone.

However, Will is distracted during the plan, as he questions how Kim got Rose's phone in the first place. Later, Dawn is broken to receive a message from 'Rose' saying she's not coming back. Will the truth about Rose's disappearance be revealed?

Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX, with an hour-long episode on Thursdays.
