Unforgotten: Cassie's family told she won't make it
Sanjeev Bhaskar, star of ITV drama Unforgotten, will be making a comeback to our screens with a special Murder, They Hope episode dubbed Apocalypse Slough.
The veteran actor, aged 60, is set to share the limelight with Johnny Vegas and Sian Gibson, famous for their roles as Terry and Gemma Bremmer. Adding to the mix is Sarah Hadland who will portray Gemma's wannabe influencer sister, Monica.
Fans of the Bremmers caught their last glimpse in the Christmas special Blood Actually, drawing an impressive audience of 863K viewers in December. The star-studded feature boasted names like Jane Horrocks, Martin Kemp, Robert Webb, Rose Ayling-Ellis, and Sherrie Hewson.
Known for his role as Sunny Khan, Bhaskar soon became a hit among viewers thanks to his appearance on Unforgotten. Jason Cook, the creative force behind Apocalypse Slough as its writer, creator, and executive producer, expressed his delight at returning with Gemma and Terry: "It's so good to be back with Gemma and Terry, and this time Monica's tagging along to increase the chaos! ".

He further praised the stellar cast: "What an amazing cast we managed to get for this one, with some really fantastic performances. I can't wait for everyone to see.", reports the Mirror.
The plot for Apocalypse Slough involves Gemma pursuing her dream to become a rigorous investigator at the Serious Crimes Agency (SCA). However, Terry's criminal past bars him from joining her cause, causing tension in their relationship.
The duo then embarks on an unusual double murder investigation at a local rugby club, where they unearth hushed-up secrets.
Gemma's investigation into a complex case raises questions about her partnership with Terry and the secrets they uncover. Time is of the essence, and any delay could be catastrophic for them both!

UKTV has greenlit the standalone special, with Sarah Asante, UKTV's commissioning editor for scripted comedy, Gerald Casey, Gold's channel director, and Hilary Rosen, director of commissioning, all placing their orders.
Sarah Asante shared her excitement: "Following the success of Blood Actually, I am thrilled to bring back Sian, Johnny, and Sarah for yet another uproarious one-off instalment alongside the additional fresh and exceptional ensemble cast. Brace yourself, as Apocalypse Slough is set to take us on another intriguing romp, full of laughs and surprises delivered by Jason Cook and the Tiger Aspect team."
Gerald Casey also expressed his delight: "I'm incredibly overwhelmed by the positive response viewers have shown for Blood Actually, allowing us to continue to deliver more killer comedy with an outstanding line-up of talent. I can promise that this one-off special will bring a guarantee of laughter and a murderously good time! ".
