This Morning: Dermot pauses the show to admire Television Centre
ITV's This Morning underwent a huge change to the format today as temperatures soar across the UK.
Presenting from London, Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary confirmed they would be filming outside the studio today (July 19).
Dermot then interrupted the show to admire the ITV building in the glorious sunshine.
After a lacklustre summer so far, people in the UK are thrilled to see the sun finally shining and temperatures rising to as high as 31 degrees.
The show also celebrated the good weather by blasting out Sheryl Crow's Soak Up the Sun to kick things off.
As the chat got underway, Dermot paused the schedule to chat with Friday's guest Gyles Brandreth to admire the golden statue outside the Television Centre.
"That's Atlas, isn't it?" Dermot asked, to which Gyles replied: "It is! Looking magnificent."
He then sat back and soaked up the atmosphere, telling Alison: "I'm just going to take a moment. I hope you don't mind?"
The presenter went on to ask the production team for a wide shot of the studio to show off the building looking absolutely resplendent in the golden sunshine.
Dermot started to get slightly emotional as he basked in the iconic setting.
"If someone had told me as a kid," he began. "Because this is so iconic, right? Because so much TV has happened from here.
"If someone had told me as a kid that I would be sat outside, presenting with one of my best buddies, you know, 30 years down the line..."
The nostalgic presenter went on to recall his commute early on in his career that would pass by the iconic TV studio.
He pointed to behind the camera and said: "I used to get the train from here, I was a runner for a production company.
"It used to go past and I would dream about working here."
Alison was clearly touched by Dermot's story as she let out an "Aww!"
