Ben Shephard caused quite the stir on ITV's This Morning when he revealed a secret from his game show, Tipping Point.

Teaming up with co-host Cat Deeley, the duo returned this Thursday (July 4) to provide another round of entertainment. The highlight of the show was their new game, Coin Drop.

This week saw the debut of the Coin Drop contest, pitching viewers against the chance to win a substantial cash pot of £20,000. Callers who get through to Cat and Ben are given a golden opportunity with a coin that could potentially tip them into fortune.

Once a caller gets connected, they must decide where to place their coin, slotting it into one of seven numbered positions at the top, which then hopefully lands in a rewarding slot at the bottom of the game board. However, today's episode had an added twist when the coin jammed up - a situation Ben knows all too well from Tipping Point.

In a moment of unexpected candour, upon witnessing the jammed coin, Ben exclaimed, "Hold on a sec, so we have a little incident here! ", reports the Mirror

Addressing Cat, he divulged, "This occasionally happens on a show that I do. You never see it though because we can edit it, this live."

He graciously dealt with the snafu, retrieving the coin and preparing for a re-drop, while playfully accusing Cat of wreaking havoc on the game board.

Catch Tipping Point on the telly at 4pm during the week on ITV, where, much like Coin Drop, theres a whopping £20,000 jackpot up for grabs.

The secret spillage unfolded as hardcore This Morning enthusiasts expressed disenchantment with the programme's fresh addition. The newbie, Coin Drop, has ousted the revered Spin To Win from its pedestal on This Morning.

However, unlike its costless forerunner, Spin To Win, plunging into Coin Drop requires a fee. Flocking in numbers to platform X, irritated buffs didn't mince words about their vexation.

One particularly incensed spectator exclaimed: "Cannot believe they replaced the free spin to win with a £2 entry game of bl***y plinko."

Another weighed in by adding: "This s*** has replaced spin to win and there's a £2 fee, no thanks.

This Morning airs weekdays on ITV at 10am
