Turkish Detective trailer with Haluk Bilginer and Yasemin Kay Allen
The Turkish Detective will soon premiere but how many episodes is the crime drama going to consist of?
Starring EastEnders actor Haluk Bilginer as Inspector Cetin Ikmen, the upcoming BBC Two series will delve into the criminal underworld of Istanbul with Ikmen leading the investigations.
With a number of familiar faces in the cast as well as a stunning yet mysterious backdrop, viewers are keen to know all there is about the show based on The Inspector Ikmen Mysteries books by Barbara Nadel.
How many episodes are in The Turkish Detective?
The Turkish Detective is going to make its debut on Sunday, July 7, at 9pm on BBC Two.
In total, the drama will be made up of eight episodes but fans won’t have to wait another whole week to find out what happens next.
Episode one is going to be released on July 7, with the second instalment out the following evening, Monday, July 8, in the same time slot.
During its run, this will be The Turkish Detective’s schedule, with episodes coming out on Sundays and Mondays.
As long as there are no shake-ups to the plan, episode eight, the series finale, will air on Monday, July 29, at 9pm on BBC Two.
Of course, the other alternative is that if fans cannot wait that long, then they can instead watch the entire box set via BBC iPlayer from the initial release on July 7.
As previously mentioned, the series is led by Inspector Cetin Ikmen who may be a heavy drinker and smoker, but he knows how to crack even the most difficult of cases in the city.
He is portrayed by actor Haluk Bilginer who played Mehmet Osman in EastEnders during the 1980s, the older brother to Ali Osman.
Bilginer is joined by Killing Eve’s Ethan Kai as Detective Mehmet Suleyman and The Usual Suspects’ Yasemin Kay Allen as Detective Ayse Farsakoglu.
The Turkish Detective premieres on Sunday, July 7, on BBC Two at 9pm.
