The Boys - Season 4: Official trailer

Amazon Prime’s The Boys has never tried to shy away from violence, sex and gore. However, even by this show’s standards, many fans agree that this week’s episode entitled ‘Dirty Business’ may have gone too far.

Season 4, episode 6 centres around an exclusive party for the right-wing political elite, as well as a handful of powerful Supes including Homelander (Antony Starr) and other members of The Seven. In a secret mission orchestrated by M.M. (Laz Alonso) and other members of the boys, Hughie Campbell (Jack Quaid) is asked to go undercover as a Supe called Webweaver (Dan Mousseau).

However, things quickly go south at the party hosted by wealthy Supe Tek Knight (Derek Wilson), as he leads Hughie into an underground sex dungeon. The sadomasochistic billionaire then reveals he plans to do unspeakable things to the man he believes to be Webweaver, with Vought’s would-be CEO Ashley Barrett (Colby Minifie) even joining in on the uncomfortable antics at one point.

Hughie is subjected to some seriously disturbing foreplay before Tek Knight discovers his true identity and tells a terrified Hughie he’s going to cut holes in him with a knife. However, eventually Hughie’s pals Kimiko (Karen Fukuhara) and Starlight (Erin Moriarty) come to the rescue before any serious physical damage is done.

Another fan penned: “Hughie just getting SA'd for minutes on end was a super uncomfortable watch. Amazon ain't afraid to let the creatives do insane s***.” (sic)

While another praised: “this episode was incredibly difficult to watch. props to Laddio (Reid Millar) and Sister Sage (Susan Heyward) for giving us some levity.” (sic)
